Judas, not the Iscariot, seemed to be very interested in knowing why Jesus did not show Himself to the world.
In a commentary to this verse, Origen concludes that the world might not have been ready for this revelation. The truth is that even this small group of closely trained disciples would need the Holy Spirit’s (Paraclete) aid to be reminded and to understand everything Jesus had said.
Understanding is more than just listening to the words, but tuning ourselves with the mind of the one who tries to communicate. Jesus had already showed Himself to the world, yet the same problem remains. Unless we tune our minds to His, His revelation of the Father is not going to be successful.
